Pure perfection. New version of cosmetic glass

The new technology used in production process of opal glass cosmetic packaging is one of the most important factors in achieving success in this industry. Heinz Glass Działdowo company want to achieve that by launching new view of Shine jar made of opal glass on Polish market.

Heinz Glas Działdowo is the first glass factory in Poland and Central-Easter Europe which started manufacturing cosmetic packaging made of opal glass, based on years of experience in producing such packaging in Heinz Group. “The cosmetic industry is showing exceptionally high demand for innovation – shelves with cosmetics are a true kaleidoscope of shapes, colors and materials. Introducing a new product to the market is the goal and aim of most companies, for as we all know a modern company is one that promotes innovative products, both from technological and packaging side” – said Monika Kosmala-Sójka, sales and marketing manager at Heinz Glas Działdowo.

 

White is usually used in cosmetic packaging due to its positive perception. It symbolizes purity which is indispensable in cosmetics production and identified also with the pharmaceutical industry. This characteristic hue of opal packaging enables stronger emphasis on the applied decoration or label. Although opal glass packaging has been known for years and used by global cosmetic market leaders, it was not available for Polish manufacturers until now. The launch of this innovative technology in Poland is a huge challenge for Heinz Glas Działdowo due to its limitations. Mostly because of the requirement to maintain high glass melting and packaging forming regime, which is the foundation of effective production process and achieving high quality of products. Opal glass packaging is melted in electricity furnace  with feeders heating by electric system. Through its unique characteristic of reduced light transmission, the quality control process requires special control and measurement tools on cold end , other than in case of flint  glass. The feature that causes difficulties in measurement process is at the same time an advantage when it comes to limiting the light transmission effect on the product inside the packaging. 

 

The opal glass is a special material that underlines the product’s appearance. The best proof of that is refreshed Robin bottle made of opal glass from Heinz Glas Działdowo for aftershave products.

Time for opal

The production possibilities of opal glass packaging are very wide and can be carried out either by the existing standard moulds, or by customized ones. However, for the sake of packaging application for skin care products, Heinz Glas Działdowo offers – as a start with its opal glass “adventure” – a 50 ml Shine jar with a matching colored cap produced in Działdowo by Heinz Plastics Polska. The variety of closures’ colors as well as decorations – including gold or silver metallization - allow for limitless possibilities of end product image creation. Another suggestion is a 100 ml Robin bottle with a threaded hole for aftershave lotions application. Still the opal glass packaging is not limited to skin care products. In this case the manufacturer counts on its clients’ imagination. They also hope to soon become the leader among European opal glass packaging producers and to distribute the white cosmetic jars from Działdowo among many consumers around the world.
