These topics were addressed and discussed during the “Moving Goods Safely” seminar organized by The DOW Chemical Company on 25th of September 2018 in Warsaw.

The seminar, taking place under the auspices of Packaging Polska magazine, gathered representatives of the whole value chain, from Brand Owners to converters, focused on the trends, needs, and challenges of the Central European Transportation Packaging Market. The organizer, the DOW Chemical Company – a leading global polymer supplier – offers economical and sustainable packaging solutions for the transportation market. The company activities target safe product packaging and its delivery to the final consumer while ensuring maximum load stability, elimination of waste, cost reduction and minimization of CO2 emissions also supporting goals of sustainable growth and circular economy.
During the seminar, DOW and invited speakers – including Robopac and Eumos representatives presented authentic application examples of innovative and sustainable solutions for transportation and logistics inspiring the audience for further collaborations and developments. Dow’s ‘Move it Safely’ industrial and consumer packaging solutions complement producers’ strategies to transport and deliver goods in the best possible conditions. This helps producers guarantee high load stability, so their goods can travel safely along the supply chain and demonstrates the collaborative and innovative mindset of the company– as highlighted by Marian Gmenta, representing DOW.
High level of presentations
The seminar gathered multiple representatives from large as well as small companies who listened with interest to the presentations of the experts covering, among others, topics of load stability, new norms and regulations regarding road transportation and their influence on logistics.
The experts invited by DOW addressed also current industry trends, market needs and the latest technologies for different industrial packaging types and formats used both in Europe and globally. As highlighted by Helga Gomez from DOW in her presentation “Safety, Performance, Sustainability & Cost Benefits”: “The market is becoming global – looking ten years back, goods produced in Europe were sold in Europe. Today it’s all changed. Goods are manufactured globally using modern technologies and sold all over the world. Products for European market are imported from United States or China”.
Special attention was brought also to the need of application-related testing in real-life conditions. As mentioned by Przemyslaw Olszynski representing DOW: “Our solutions are not tested only on the lab-scale equipment as such results are not sufficient and could even be misleading. This is why we are relying on real-life testing – for the end-users, to optimize load stability thus maximizing transportation safety and for ourselves, to better understand our product performance.”
