Laminators' season. Laminating machines from Paker

Vacation period in packaging industry is not always very intense. However, Paker company can prove something completely opposite – at the beginning of July 2013 they installed in VIKI Family, a company located near Warsaw, a fully automatic laminating machine FMZ 1650 produced by Meiguang.

According to specialists from Paker, that machine can be described as concentrating on details and characterised by a very compact design. The laminator works on sheets from 400 to 1650 mm, and with the length of 500 mm it reaches the speed of 6 thousand sheets per hour. The front suction feeder can be distinguished by the quality and precision of feeding even the thinnest paper, using at the same time the tested and perfect design of FMZ 1650. In bottom sheet feeder suction belts have been installed, which allows to use all types of cardboard: 2,3,4 as well as 5-layer, regardless of fluting type (B,C,D,E or F). Sheet adjustment is done automatically and any errors may be only a result of wrong settings applied by the operator. Gluing is done with the cold laminating glue using squeegees, which ensures even distribution, and the adhesive level controls signal when it has ran out. Maintaining the gluing element in a clean state does not constitute any problem due to an automatic water circulation mechanism that enables accurate washing of rollers and glue pump within 5-10 minutes after work has been finished. What’s more, the machine consumes considerably little power.

The supplier’s representatives could not hide their admiration for the equipment. “It’s entire construction is on a truly high level. Additionally, the work quality can be proved by the fact that this year we have already sold 4 such machines in Poland and we conduct further negotiations with several potential clients. When it comes to FMZ 1650’s  price, I can only underline that it is around three times lower than its European counterparts, yet the construction and solutions that were used here represent the highest technological level” – commented Marcin Potoczny, Sales manager at Paker. In the construction process there were used components from the renown companies such as Omron, Siemens or Schneider. All rollers and bearings were manufactured from the best available materials and with high precision. The design is so advanced that there was even used a system of quick bearings replacement without the necessity to remove the rollers, which was possible thanks to using this element’s blockade in the machine’s casing, which helps minimise the service time. There were also used numerous solutions that support the operator’s work i.e. each element of the machine is equipped with a number of emergency stop devices in order to improve the workers’ safety;  a Polish manual was supplied as well, which contains instructions how to repair the most common defects during utilisation. The device meets all the CE and ISO standards. “The trick is not to bring a low-cost machine, but to satisfy the customer and get their recommendation for the future” – summarised Marcin Potoczny.
