In addition to commercial product identification such as barcodes, content description, weight and conditions required for storage some more information can be placed on it, such as graphic instructions for folding/closing and palletizing, which would reduce potential errors in usage. Placing instruction for opening a box in a visible place will minimize a possibility of damaging the product that is inside by the end user, and with transport/display packaging, commonly known as SRP, it will ensure correct opening by the staff at the selling point and prevent the damage of its marketing properties. The meaning of promotional features and high quality of packaging is constantly increasing, for in many cases it is has a key responsibility for selling of products in self-service shopping centers.

Thus, transport packaging, besides required endurance and functionality, ought to be light-weight in proportion to the weight of transported goods, thereby reducing the cost of raw material and product charges. Light-weight papers used for corrugated cardboard production are characterised by high endurance in proportion to their low weight. The use of light-weight paper characterised by high endurance qualities significantly reduces the amount of raw material to manufacture a given product, make the production and logistics  processes  more cost efficient, and additionally reduce the environmental impact. However, waste paper with increased resistance is dedicated to be used to produce packaging for heavy goods and those which require to be stored in low temperatures and increased humidity. They are a perfect alternative to papers made from pulp derived from primary wood processing, such as kraftliners and semichemical type.
